Request for Proposals: Graphic Designer / Communications Consultant
Project Overview: The Northwest Native Chamber (NWNC) is seeking a Graphic Designer / Communications Consultant to provide our team with expert guidance and strategic support as we develop and implement a technical assistance program for the Child Care Infrastructure Fund (CCIF). This critical initiative aims to support childcare providers across Oregon, including Tribal providers. The selected consultant will work closely with our staff to ensure the program effectively meets the diverse needs of these providers.
Urgency and Quick Selection Process: Time is of the essence for this project. We have implemented an accelerated selection process and aim to onboard the consultant within 3-4 weeks of the RFP release date. Proposals will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with early submissions strongly encouraged. The selected consultant should be prepared to begin work immediately, with flexibility for a phased start if needed.
Key Deliverables: The consultant will assist our team in developing and refining the following deliverables:
1. Visual aids and infographics to enhance understanding.
2. Collaborate with NWNC on the development of resources tailored to the specific needs of Tribal child care providers.
3. Create visually engaging training materials, including slide decks, handouts, to support the delivery of technical assistance and training.
4. Ensure materials are designed for both in-person and virtual training sessions.
5. Design and develop digital content including but not limited to; website graphics, social media assets, and online resource libraries.
6. Ensure digital materials are optimized for accessibility and user experience across
different devices and platforms.
7. Collaborate with NWNC on the design of a comprehensive framework plan for delivering TA to child care providers.
8. Design NWNC’s final report on the overall analysis and impact of CCIF programming, including highlighting client success stories and program recommendations.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Collaboration with the Northwest Native Chamber
- Work closely with NWNC staff to understand the programs goals and
requirements - Ensure all deliverables align with the overall strategy and objectives of the CCIF
program. - Attending regular meetings with the project team to provide expert insights and recommendations
2. Content Creation and Design
- Develop visually appealing / user friendly and informative documents and
materials - Incorporate feedback from the chamber team and other stakeholders to refine
and enhance materials - Aid in developing website / presentation materials
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in graphic design and communications, preferably within the
childcare or nonprofit sector. - Familiarity with the childcare industry, particularly in Oregon and Tribal childcare
providers. - Strong graphic design skills with proficiency in design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe, Google suite etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to create clear, concise, and visually appealing materials.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and adapt to changing requirements.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Understanding and respect for tribal communities and their unique needs and
perspectives.
Budget:
The budget for this project is $15,000.
