The Gathering 2024 is more than an event—it’s a movement toward economic justice and transformation, rooted in the rich traditions of Native communities and looking ahead to prosperous futures. Scheduled for October 10th, 2024, at the Leftbank Annex in Portland, Oregon, this gala is a celebration of cultural heritage and economic potential within Native communities. It serves as a pivotal platform for promoting sustainable development and systemic change.
This year’s theme, “Economies of the Future: Traditions of Prosperity,” reflects our commitment to intertwining traditional wisdom with innovative economic strategies to forge a prosperous future for Native communities.
Prepare for an unforgettable evening, featuring a stunning fashion showcase directed by Rebekah Jarvey (Chippewa Cree). Rebekah will guide us through a display of cutting-edge Native fashion, highlighting contemporary designs that honor timeless traditions. The showcase will feature the extraordinary talents of Melrene Saloy-Eaglespeaker (Blood Tribe) of Native Diva Creations, whose mixed media designs capture the essence of Native artistry, and Jillian Waterman (Anishinaabe), who brings contemporary couture to life with a unique blend of modern aesthetics and cultural motifs. Additionally, Alicia Stephens (Nuu-Chah-Nulth/Kwakwaka’wakw) of Alicia’s Designs will present her exceptional contemporary couture, which seamlessly integrates the past and present, celebrating her heritage through innovative fashion.
Join us for a night of exquisite cuisine crafted by award-winning Native chefs, powerful musical performances, and a vibrant display of Native excellence. Every element of The Gathering 2024—from the food to the art—is a testament to the vibrant cultures that drive our mission forward, honoring the fusion of tradition and modernity.
