What is BOI and does my business need to comply?

• Beneficial Owner Information (BOI) is designed to support the government in the fight against shell corporations and corrupt business practices. We will go over the list of businesses who are not required. It is 90% chance that your business will need to comply with this requirement.

How do I determine who is the Beneficial Owner(s) of my company and Is this public record or private and protected information?

• We will go over the steps necessary to determine this aspect of your reporting.

How do I comply with this requirement and what are the consequences if I refuse?

• Filing BOI is a five step process that is done online for free.
• The willful failure to report complete or updated beneficial ownership information to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), or the willful provision of or attempt to provide false or fraudulent beneficial ownership information may result in a civil or criminal penalties, including civil penalties of up to $500 for each day that the violation continues, or criminal penalties including imprisonment for up to two years and/or a fine of up to $10,000. Senior officers of an entity that fails to file a required BOI report may be held accountable for that failure.
