The Northwest Native Chamber is developing innovative programs to support Native communities by creating jobs in the Clean Energy sector, preparing businesses for climate-resilient construction contracts, and reducing energy costs for Native homeowners through residential retrofits by Native contractors.

Native Clean Energy Workforce Initiative (NCWI)

This educational program will equip the Native community in Portland with the knowledge and skills they need to secure jobs in the fast-growing solar and renewable energy industries. The training is tailored to accommodate a wide range of participants, with no prior experience in solar energy required!

Clean Energy Contractor Development Program (CECDP)

In this program, you’ll develop marketable skills while you get paid in the rapidly growing Climate resiliency construction sector. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to work on no-cost home energy retrofit projects for elders and tribal families in the Portland Metro region, reducing their energy costs and ensuring they live in energy-efficient homes.
