"In 2019, I launched Hawkeye Consulting, named after my grandfather’s business since the 80s. He was a generous man who helped anyone who needed him. He's no longer with us, but I am proud to carry on the name he established.
Our initial version of Hawkeye provides IT consulting services to startups.
In December 2021, my largest client closed their doors.
I honed my technical writing skills through years of experience in many IT roles with startups, the public sector, and multinational enterprises since the early aughts.
I naturally gravitated towards technical writing as a remote consultant. However, while searching for new clients, I felt more than ever the lack of equity in the industries I was querying for contracts. I knew there must be something more purposeful to strive for.
Throughout 2021, I worked with my grandmother and my aunt to publish my granny’s memoirs. It sadly turned out to be her last year of life. I was grateful for the manuscript we had built and we enjoyed the collaboration immensely.
In 2023, I was inspired to pivot my business and started Hawkeye Publishing, driven by my desire to make a more profound impact on the world. I have always loved to read, and even more to write. I worked at a bookstore in the 90s and learned how intimidating the industry was back then. Years later, my IT background gives me expanded insight to support clients through each step of their publishing journey and the new tech hurdles that may come up along the way.
I am passionate about helping to amplify BIPOC voices and working to promote equity for marginalized groups.
I would love to work with organizations to create anthologies for publication as a fundraising tool, as well as with individual authors, to build lasting legacies."
